OUr Thing Racing Circuit

The name ‘Our Thing’ comes from the unification of the storied clubs and races in Portland, much like bringing the families together in an underground crime syndicate, but not that dangerous and everything is above board. The city enjoys a wide range of unique and storied clubs and events, each with their own culture and identity. Our Thing is something that all groups can call their own and participate in. New York has their thing, Boston has their thing, Chicago has their thing… if you’re running in Portland, this is Our Thing. Fuhgettaboutit.

* Please note that Our Thing will not be posting prize money for virtual races. The idea behind this series was to bring the best runners together and raise the level of competition in Portland. We are devastated by the race cancellations due to Covid-19 and will do everything we can to support live competition when it is safe to hold events again.

It all started when…

Our Thing emerged from a meeting in early 2019 where Portland Track brought local running clubs and running enthusiasts together for a candid discussion. The group expressed a shared desire to improve the regional racing scene and bring the best runners together in events that have certified courses and DO NOT cross train tracks. Portland Track Board members quickly got to work partnering with local race directors and outlining a circuit for 2020. We may be starting small this year, but we see great potential in building on this circuit raising the bar for the racing scene in Portland.
