OUR Mission
To create, organize, and support events + programs that grow the sport of Track & Field + running in Portland.
What we do
Our Meets
The marquee events on the track and field calendar in Portland take place in June and July. The Portland Track Festival started as a middle school meet in 2008 and the Stumptown Twilight began in 2015. Each event features community, youth, masters, and open races as well as a 1.5 hour window of races featuring some of the top athletes and teams in the world that are broadcast across the globe. Olympic champions, world record holders, national record holders and countless Olympians have raced at these events throughout the years and a win in Portland is as coveted as any place on the continent.
Community Engagement
Portland Track is a grassroots organization operated by the community, for the community. We believe that growing the sport means getting the people of Portland excited and educated about running, outside of the high-performance meets that happen once a year. In partnership with Tracklandia, we host frequent events at local breweries and eateries with local run clubs, where people learn about the sport and its athletes while connecting with current and future friends.
It is part of our DNA to be active supporters and participants of the Portland community - if you are interested in partnering with us on an event, please contact us!
cultural events
We know our artists, content creators, and photographers are an essential part of helping to build the sport, and we couldn’t do it without them. In December 2021, we hosted our inaugural FLASH photography gala to celebrate running photography. The event is a celebration of the year with our Portland community, and features a silent auction / showcase of some of the top photos in the sport. We will be expanding the event this year to feature a competition, inviting photographers from around the country to submit their best shots. Proceeds go to Portland Track and the artists.
